Annie Edwards
Senior Paralegal
Logan, Roy, Tooele & Pleasant Grove, UT
Utah State University
Annie Edwards is a Senior Paralegal at Creekside Injury Law and has been with the
firm since October 2022. Annie brings a rare combination of skills to her work, blending real medical experience, professional editing, and her own lived experience navigating the legal system.
The result is a paralegal who reads a stack of medical records the way most people read a short story, and who treats every client like a real human being going through one of the hardest moments of their life.
A Utah Native Through and Through
Annie is originally from Fruit Heights, Utah, and her education reflects just how much she values learning. She attended Davis High School, then Davis Tech, BYU, and Utah State University. Utah is home, and she loves everything about it, from hiking in the Uintas to camping with her kids to family days at Station Park.
A Background That Translates Directly to Better Case Results
Before joining Creekside, Annie earned her EMT license and CNA certification, volunteered as an EMT on the BYU campus, and worked in a local emergency room. She has also run her own small businesses, worked as a professional editor, and personally navigated the legal system as a single mom.
Every one of those experiences plays into the work she does today:
- As a former first responder, she knows firsthand how terrifying and chaotic the moments after an accident really are.
- Her EMT and ER background means she understands medical jargon, treatment timelines, and the physical toll an injury takes on the body. When she’s reading through hundreds of pages of medical records, she knows exactly what she’s looking at.
- Her editing and small business background allows her to take complex
medical details and synthesize them into a clear, powerful case narrative that
gets results in negotiation. - Her personal experience in stressful court settings gives her a raw, real lens for empathizing with clients, which makes her fiercely protective of the people Creekside represents.
What Annie Actually Does for Clients
In plain English, Annie makes sure clients feel taken care of and seen. She reviews police reports and medical records, untangles complicated billing issues, and organizes the puzzle pieces of a case into a powerful factual foundation that allows Creekside’s attorneys to negotiate the best possible settlement. She also works behind the scenes to keep cases moving forward, checking in regularly so clients are never left wondering what’s happening.
The most common question she hears is, “How long will it take to get a settlement?” Her honest answer: expect it to take longer than you want, and be pleasantly surprised if it’s faster. Insurance companies and medical providers move slowly. The most important thing, Annie reminds clients, is getting the medical treatment they need to fully heal.
Why She Does This Work
Annie was in two accidents in college, neither of which were her fault. Both left her in significant pain, and she did nothing to get the help she needed because she simply didn’t know that kind of help existed.
Today, she’s passionate about making sure other injury victims know they don’t have to go through it alone. As she puts it, “We actually care. For reals. We have the heart and the capacity to truly help.”
One client moment stands out. Annie worked with a single mom who had been dealt blow after blow in life but refused to give up. A devastating crash threatened everything she had rebuilt, yet her attitude was still, “I’ll figure it out no matter what, even if no one helps me.” Throughout her case, she was genuinely shocked at the level of care she received. When Creekside secured a policy limits offer for her, the gratitude she expressed was unforgettable. You could feel that the outcome wasn’t just financial. It restored a little bit of her faith in humanity and reminded her she doesn’t have to carry everything alone.
That’s why Annie does this work. She’s detail-oriented by nature, and there’s something deeply satisfying about gathering the scattered pieces of a case and turning them into something powerful and very human. Knowing her work takes real stress off a client’s shoulders during a hard chapter of their life is what keeps her in it.
Community and Family
Annie has volunteered as an EMT, run a 150+ member book club focused on diverse perspectives, and written blogs about navigating grief, medical trauma, and recovery, themes that connect deeply to the emotional journey her clients are walking. Today, she’s especially passionate about supporting other single moms in her community with resources and encouragement. Her biggest “volunteer work” right now, though, is at home with her two kids.
Off the Clock
Annie spends most of her free time with her kids, siblings, and friends. She has a toy cavapoo, loves local road trips, hiking, good food, and a great TV binge (Ted Lasso and Shrinking are recent favorites). She’s also a serious reader. Know My Name and Untamed are two books she’ll happily recommend to anyone.
If Annie Could Tell Every New Client One Thing
“We can really help you. You take care of your healing, and we’ll take care of everything else.”
